Speakers Circle

Our group came together out of a desire to spread the word in the community about the impact Girls on the Run has on girls, their families, and the community. We realized that we needed help from community members just like you to help.  That's why we started the Speakers Circle - a group passionate about empowering the lives of girls through community engagement.

What does empowering girls look like to you? If you want to use your voice and connect with others, it probably looks like the Girls on the Run Speakers Circle!

The GOTR Speakers Circle supports girls by:

~ Increasing awareness of the our mission and necessity through outreach events 

~ Increasing girls served by recruiting donors, volunteers, and sites to host teams of girls

All ages and backgrounds are welcome! No running experience needed. Ideally, GOTR is looking for people who are:

· Passionate about empowering girls!

· Aligned with our mission and vision 

· Wanting to get involved in a volunteer role

· Comfortable speaking to groups of people

· Comfortable with PowerPoint (preferred, but not required)

· Willing to use their network to secure speaking opportunities for the Speakers Circle

· Ready to attend a GOTR-led training

  This incredible group of volunteers represents our council at events across our community, such as at community groups, churches, and expos. Our Speakers receive the best training and best swag! 

By joining our Speakers Circle, you’ll connect with members of our community and inspire others to get involved with GOTR.

Volunteer Speakers are able to:

· Lead the way to show how GOTR benefits the community

· Share personal talents and skills to help GOTR grow

· Spread the word about GOTR

· Continue to build upon skills, whether for a resume or an expanded desire to help others in the community

· Find purpose outside of the career or in retirement – 

bring balance to your life

· Have fun supporting special projects to empower the girls at GOTR
